Get your vision boards out. We’re taking our famous Movers + Breakers conference to Bali next year and there’s a ticket with your name on it. We know you’re bombarded with hundreds of choices each day, each week, every year.

We’re already scheming on how to make this experience the most unforgettable event of your entire year - after all, Business Chicks is turning 20 in 2025, and that’s one heck of a reason to celebrate!

Movers + Breakers is more than a conference. It’s a powerful catalyst for joy, growth + transformation.
Ten years ago, we had a dream. We loved meeting amazing women at all the Business Chicks events around the country. We broke bread, giggled together, expanded our networks, learned from amazing speakers and walked away feeling better than when we arrived.
Trouble was, it felt like it wasn’t long enough.
One day, around our boardroom table we started daydreaming. We asked ‘What if we could emulate that feeling you get at a Business Chicks event and amplify it in every way so that our members and their friends could get so much value and joy and knowledge from an experience that ran over a few days and really filled up their cups and brains?’
And so Movers + Breakers was born.
Over the past ten years Movers + Breakers has become a famous institution. We’ve farmed for pearls on the coast of Broome and ridden camels on the beach at sunset. We’ve witnessed indigenous folk welcome us, performing the Haka overlooking a backdrop of snow-covered mountains in Queenstown. We’ve experienced a sunrise yoga session in the red dirt with Uluru framing our focus. There was wine tasting in the Barossa Valley, lots of pool time in Fiji, breakthroughs and a-ha moments on Hamilton Island and outdoor dining extravaganzas at the easternmost tip of Australia in Byron Bay. We danced until our feet hurt on the Gold Coast and hatched plans to conquer the world in Port Douglas, always sipping champagne, being calmed by the views and entertained by each other.
At Movers + Breakers the armour comes off, we ask for what we need, we stretch our thinking and deepen our knowledge and we always, always, leave feeling better than when we arrived.

So, what can you expect?
We'd like to think we're experts in curating time and space so that you get huge value from the conference sessions and also time to relax and synthesise what you've learned - whether that's alone time back in your room for the afternoon or by the pool with some new found friends.
The Movers + Breakers experience always starts with registration at the conference venue. We'll give you your program and lanyard and then you're free to unpack and settle in. That night we take you to a beautiful welcome reception where you'll meet your fellow movers and breakers and enjoy delicious food and a cocktail or three.
The next day you can choose to rise early and start the day with a little movement or you can sleep in and make your way to the buffet for breakfast at your leisure. Our conference sessions kick off on this day and you'll be moved and stretched by the incredible speakers we've invited along. The culture at Movers + Breakers is that our speakers are open books - they welcome you to ask as many questions as you'd like and often stick around for the dinners and offsite experiences so you can continue the convo there. We make sure there's some downtime for you in the afternoons and that night we whisk you away to another gorgeous dinner. We move you around at each meal, strategically seating you so you can meet as many people as possible.
The next day follows the same format and after the conference sessions, your mind will be buzzing with possibilities and the opportunity of all that's to come. Relax in the afternoon before the final night party to round off the experience. And yes, it's fancy dress! We give you the theme, and you leave the rest to us.

You don't have to have a business to get massive value from Movers + Breakers. We have a ton of execs who come along each year, and we have people who are on career breaks or exploring their next move. We have emerging leaders, and we have delegates from non-profits too. You'll learn something from every speaker and you'll learn something from every attendee too.

You'd be surprised at how many introverts and neurodivergent folks come along to Movers + Breakers each year! We invite you to set your own pace and talk with our team in advance about your needs. We'll always do our best to accommodate them.

Our team work tirelessly with our suppliers to ensure we're inclusive and proactive when it comes to accessibility. We choose venues and partners that prioritise accessibility, so again, talk with our team and we'll support you to have the best experience.

For your conference days, business casual works. Most attendees wear jeans and a blazer or a dress or pants and a shirt - honestly, anything goes! For the evenings, dress as you would if you were going to a nice dinner and for the final night party, it's always fancy dress and we'll give you plenty of advance notice on the theme!

We understand. It's freaking tough out there right now. We will work with you on a payment plan so you can make small payments over time that help ease cash flow. If that option is still not in reach for you, please drop us a note at events@businesschicks.com and we'll do our best to find a part-sponsor to get you there. A number of our members and friends are incredibly generous and want to ensure that as many women can have a seat at the Movers + Breakers table where possible.

It's really important for you to stay at the conference venue as all of our activities (and the conference itself) are held onsite. We also have the buses/coaches leave from this venue for our nightly dinners/parties and anyway - it's so much more convenient to be with the group and you'll love it - we promise!

Don't be! It's our job to make sure you're comfy and feel safe at all times. Sooo many people come alone (and scared!) and leave having had the best time with a bunch of new lifelong friends. The humans of Movers + Breakers are super kind, inclusive, and have been where you are now! Also keep an eye out on an upcoming online info session about Movers + Breakers - you can jump on and see what it's all about to alleviate some of those butterflies.
